With the announced merger between Allegiant and Sun Country, it is time to elect a union built by pilots, for pilots.
IBT wants to prevent that choice.
By signing a card, you ensure the NMB conducts a vote where more than 2,100 pilots hear directly campaigns from both ALPA and IBT and choose their representation democratically.
No. By signing a card, you are simply expressing interest in the National Mediation Board (NMB) conducting a representation election. If the NMB authorizes an election, you will then have the opportunity to vote by secret ballot and choose between ALPA and the IBT for representation.
Signing a card does not decertify the Allegiant pilot union, and it does not leave pilots without representation. The only outcome of signing a card is the possibility of a formal, secret-ballot election where pilots decide which union they want to represent them.
No. As shared in recent town halls, Allegiant’s CEO and COO have publicly confirmed the pilot retention bonus is part of the current CBA extension and will be paid out regardless of which union represents the pilots.
If blocking a vote fails, the Teamsters’ second line of defense will be fear-based messaging to convince you to vote for them by claiming the bonus or other benefits could be lost.
No. As previously discussed by Allegiant, our healthcare coverage and costs are protected by the CBA. Equivalent coverage and cost must be maintained unless and until changes are negotiated in a new CBA or JCBA and ratified by the pilots.
Yes. Once Single Transportation System status is determined by the National Mediation Board, both the Air Line Pilots Association and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters will be free to campaign directly with Allegiant pilots.
After five years of stalled negotiations, repeated leadership turmoil, loss of pilot autonomy under an emergency trusteeship, failed strategic decisions, and limited airline-specific resources, Allegiant pilots have seen firsthand that the IBT structure is not delivering the results this pilot group deserves.
No. This effort exists for one reason: to ensure Allegiant pilots get a vote on their representation.
The IBT narrative depends on fear — suggesting instability, lost benefits, or chaos if pilots are allowed to choose.
That messaging assumes pilots cannot evaluate facts and make informed decisions for themselves. Allegiant pilots are professionals. We are fully capable of hearing from both sides, weighing the information, and casting our own vote.
This campaign is not about harm. It is about the fundamental right to choose.
