Our mission is to ensure that Allegiant and Sun Country pilots are afforded a fair and timely representation election, as provided by the Railway Labor Act. The IBT is preparing to take actions that have the effect of withholding that vote, despite a clear and growing desire among pilots to exercise their right to choose their representation.
Rather than facilitating a democratic process, IBT leadership appears focused on preserving its existing position and avoiding the internal and external consequences that would accompany a representation election. These actions prioritize institutional and political considerations over the careers, voices, and rights of more than 2,100 professional pilots.
We are making our position clear to the National Mediation Board: pilots want a vote. We believe representation should be guided by the expressed will of the pilots themselves, not controlled through delay, restriction, or procedural avoidance. A legitimate union derives its authority from consent, not from preventing choice.
